Position Purpose & Summary

Transportation and planning: trip generation by consolidating multiple orders to build full truckloads with objective criteria to determine best value and load effieiency. The candidate must demonstrate a strong level of customer service including decision making ability when last minute changes occur. The successful candidate must have broad knowledge of United States geography.

Principal Accountabilities

Consolidate multiple orders to create full truckloads to optimize value and efficiency

Manage change and problem solve to rework loads as orders change or as new orders arrive and recognize cost saving opportunities

Fully cross train in all traffic department functions

Participate in transportation projects and other duties as required



  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field or at least 2 years of equivalent professional work experience in logistics and transportation

  • Strong communication skill set, both spoken and written, and demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports and memoranda

  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude

  • Must be organized and have the ability to communicate across many levels of the organization

  • Strong customer service skills are essential both inside and outside of Cargill

  • Self-motivated with high level of accountability to make sound decisions in a fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently

  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime

  • Broad knowledge of United States geography

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Knowledge of Kewill/BluJay Transportation System

  • Knowledge of Hours of Service
