The supply chain planner will be responsible for combining customer orders, inventory, and forecasts into the crush, refining, dewaxing, and deodorizing short-term schedule, mid and long-term plans working with cross functional teams including commercial, transportation and operations to ensure we are meeting seed, meal, and oil contracts, maximizing margins, and running assets (crush, refining, dewax, deodorizer, rail cars) to their optimal levels.
Use inventory, contracts, orders, and plant processing information to publish a short term detailed production schedule employing appropriate scheduling tools and methods, and revising as situations change (e.g. production upsets, unexpected demand).
Develop a rolling mid-term (2-4 month) rough cut plan to ensure proper coordination of origination, maintenance (scheduled downtime) and logistic activities, considering seed supply, demand data, resource capabilities and process constraints. Proactively identify risk areas (e.g. seed shortages/oil imports), analyze different potential scenarios and recommend most efficient solution to maximize profits and meet customer demands.
Implement and utilize tools, processes, optimization models and metrics from BOSC to do scenario planning and constraint shadow pricing to allow future growth and debottlenecking of operations on the back of customer demands and requirements (e.g. storage shed, oil storage). Utilize PI data historian, and other relevant data sources to pull data for planning purposes and trend projections. Ensure planning master data is up-to-date and accurate
