From frosting on birthday cakes to the fuel in your car, Cargill Starches & Sweeteners North America (SSNA) is a part of your life in more ways than you would imagine. Leading national brands choose Starches & Sweeteners NA to develop, manufacture, and deliver ingredients that differentiate their food and beverage products in the marketplace. In addition, Starches & Sweeteners NA unlocks the goodness of the common corn kernel to create ingredients that are used in cattle feed, plastics, food packaging and medicines.

The Sr. Business Development Associate position will be key part of bringing new ideas to commercialization within the Bio-Industrial Segment of SSNA. The Bio-Industrial Segment is one of the key growth areas for SSNA. This position will be responsible for managing activities within the innovation steering team and conducting market analysis to help drive new ideas to reality. This person will need to collaborate with a cross-functional team and have strong analysis and project management skills.

40% Business Analysis:
Analyze the assigned markets for size, scope, prices, potential growth, application development. Identify and recommend if a market segment is worth investment of further resources and personnel. Find relevant information that help assess the potential of the marketplace. Connect internal and external resources to facilitate exploration and discovery. Develop business cases for potential opportunities by working across a broad, cross-functional team


40% Business Process Management:
Responsible for facilitating FIST (Fermentation Innovation Steering Team) meetings andensuring the team is meeting goals with respect to moving ideas through the process. Review project and apply strategic filters with the person submitted a new idea/project. Schedule and conduct the FIST meetings. Ensure that team members are assigned approapriate roles and reminded about the responsibilities. Maintain and improve FIST sharepoint. Identify and implement opportunities to improve the information quality/integrity, consistency, efficiency and overall usefulness of FIST processes and outputs.


20% Other business analysis:
Perform other business analysis as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Engineering
  • 4 years of experience in business analysis

  • 2 years of experience in leading or supporting projects

  • Experience with project valuation concepts such as NPV, DCF, etc. Financial modelling experience.

  • Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment and comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree

  • 6 years of experience
  • Market/financial analysis and project management experience
