Position porpuse

The FSQR Technologist I is an integral part of the plant quality and food safety systems. This position provides front line FSQR support to operations, purchasing, customer service, and sales. The Technologist assists the FSQR team in the execution of the sites HACCP programs, corporate food safety policies, and quality and regulatory compliance standards for the chocolate and compound product lines. The FSQR Technologist activities are to perform laboratory testing on incoming ingredients, in process materials, and finished products and use the results to determine material dispositions and calculate changes needed for the product and manufacturing processes to ensure finished materials meet specifications. Further the Technologists manage and execute CCNA's finished product positive release process which includes the review of food safety, quality, and production records and the final approval for finished goods. Other tasks include nonconformance investigation, generation of return to service plans, and working with other departments within the business to provide support and guidance for quality and food safety issues.

Principal accountabilities

45% Perform laboratory testing and use results to make informed decisions on material dispositions and calculate changes needed for the products and the manufacturing processes in support of production, purchasing, product development, and customers

20% Execute CCNA's finished product positive release process providing final approval for finished goods and assurance of compliance to customer specifications

20% Provide food safety and quality support and guidance to production, purchasing, sales, and customer service

5% Maintain food safety, quality, and production records for legal and historical purposes

5% Act as back up to the Instrumentation Specialist and other FSQR Technologists as needed

5% Other assignments as required

Qualifications

Required

  • A Bachelor's degree

  • Familiarity with GMP's and Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related topic

  • Familiarity with SAP and HACCP

  • Bilingual/proficiency in Spanish

  • Previous food safety, quality or production experience in food manufacturing

  • Previous experience in chocolate manufacturing

  • Current valid driver's license

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
