The Finance Analyst is a member of the Inventory Control team and assumes lead responsibility for the financials of inventory within the Nestle USA finished goods distribution network (company-owned and 3rd party facilities).  The analyst continues to develop his/her financial and technical skills, and interacts with cross-functional teams throughout the organization. The analyst exercises good judgment, stays focused on results, and ensures the integrity of financial reporting in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

The analyst will work with cross-functional teams throughout the organization to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requirements and consistent use of Nestlé's reporting policies and systems.


Responsible for assisting the Inventory Control Team in overseeing that inventory control financials and KPIs are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.

Key compliance owner for Internal controls, ensuring alignment with Nestle Standards and local regulations.  Monitors and mitigates controls risks.  Acts as champion for NGA audit compliance for inventory related items (Inventory Accuracy, Segregation of Duties etc).

Assist the Inventory Control Leadership Team in the development, implementation, documentation and continual streamlining of policies and procedures, to also include training and presentation materials for new hire orientations and refresher training. Ensure that SOP's are appropriate and serve the purpose of mitigating financial risk. 

In collaboration with management, be able to provide input on the annual budget and business plan, define metrics and measure his/her team's performance against those metrics and ensures department KPIs are on track, as well as contribute in setting clear goals for the team.

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure new third party co-manufacturers and warehouses are introduced appropriately; address issues as needed for existing sites; evaluate 3PL EDI connectivity to improve and streamline data flow.

Develop project plans identifying key milestones and risk assessment/avoidance steps for all activities related to Inventory Control.  Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business initiatives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.  Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Proactively engage and collaborate with internal/external resources to build professional relationships and lead/participate in improvement initiatives.  Engage internal/external resources in project development to identify potential issues and risks and create solutions. 

Act as lead for the Inventory Control in the absence of the Manager/Supervisor.

Performs special projects as assigned   


Minimum of 3 years' experience in Accounting/Finance required

BA/BS with major or minor in Accounting or Finance, or BA/BS degree with coursework up to and including intermediate accounting required

Project leadership experience


Strong project management and demonstrated leadership skills.

Hands-on knowledge of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and footnotes thereto

Hands-on knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) or International Accounting Standards (IAS) assumptions, principles and constraints (i.e. economic equity, going concern, monetary unit, periodic reporting, historical cost, revenue recognition, matching, full disclosure, cost-benefit relationship, materiality, and conservatism)

Excellent analytical skills with attention to details.  Well-organized, methodical thinker. Excellent decision-making skills

Self and team motivator who can drive for resolution of problems.  Strong and creative problem-solving skills.

Able to prioritize and juggle multiple demands.  Manages time well.  Works well in high-pressure environment.

Knowledge of audit, financial controls and experience implementing control processes and checks.  Ability to balance level of risk vs cost of control implementation/maintenance.

Proficient in ERP accounting systems (ex. SAP, Oracle).  Also, advanced proficiency in MS Office, including expert-level Excel and Access.
