Position Purpose


Responsible for supervising day to day activities of the Dalton Operations, including assigning work duties, maintaining process quality and safety procedures. This position is accountable to produce products as efficiently as possible while meeting all Cargill and Regulatory requirements. This includes managing plant cost, employee training and development, employee relations, and implementing all EHS, quality and production processes

Principal Accountabilities

25%- Responsible for on-site leadership for plant supervisors and plant operators. Leads workforce to accomplish production goals for the plant Develops and implements training plans for all operators. Actively develops department supervisors including a formal performance management process. Provides coaching to direct and indirect reports on Cargill's core values and guiding principles. Drives accountability in production department while also actively addressing department engagement levels.

20%- Responsible for department compliance with Cargill and governmental EHS standards. Responsible for leading production department in compliance with Cargill standards for management of change, training, and procedure adherence in all work areas. Works with other departments to drive uniformity and compliance with safe work practices with special focus in covered Highly Hazardous/PSM areas.

20%- Oversee the production schedule to ensure meeting the needs of the customer, which includes SAP management. Ensures accuracy, quality, and timeliness of production and inventory data. Directly oversees and monitors production first pass quality, yield performance, and schedule compliance while ensuring product meets customer expectations. Oversees, documents, and investigates quality issues that occur. Works with other departments to determine, manage, and execute on product disposition plans.

20%- Utilizes technical skills and relevant experience to identify and solve problems and recommend/implement operating efficiencies. Champions a culture that promotes operational excellence. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements, recommends process improvements, and supports business case for new investments/innovations.

10%- Develops and maintains operating budget in alignments with plant goals. Maintains area housekeeping standards and complies with all regulatory requirements.

5%- Misc. duties as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    • OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum 10 years operations management experience.
  • 5 or more years in operations management/supervisory experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience with OSHA - PSM(Process Safety Management) or Cargill's HHP (Highly Hazardous Process) program
  • Strong interpersonal and team work skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience leading and scheduling batch reactor operations
  • Experience in developing and leading implementation of new policies and procedures.
