Position Purpose

This position will support the commercial team in creating pricing strategies and tactics that result in P&L growth. This position will help to ensure accuracy in pricing data and assume responsibility for leveraging and improving process and metrics through actionable reporting. This position will work closely with product line managers and other core business functions including procurement, sales, customer service, trading, supply chain and finance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to migrate efficiently through complex systems and data, and can simultaneously manage multiple high priority projects. Finally, this position will play a critical role in the eventual deployment of strategic pricing and the associated activities involved around process and system enhancements.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Lead Tactical Pricing Build and Pricing Analysis

  • Strong collaboration with cross functional team members in driving data accuracy in pricing cost build (ingredient costs, recipes, etc.)

  • Collaborate with PLMs, trading team and buyers for routine system updates for pricing

  • Responsible for proactively analyzing pricing and delivering key insights on pricing for customers and channel opportunities

  • Provide pricing guidance to the sales team and enforcement of pricing process

  • First internal point of contact for sales quotes and pricing questions

  • Support the team in administering contracts

  • Leverage tools, competitive and market intelligence, win/loss information to analyze trends, identify outliers, and understand account performance

30% Pricing System Support

  • Ensure accuracy of pricing data

  • Work with Global IT to resolve pricing system issues

  • Problem solving to resolve pricing issues

20% Special Projects and Ad Hoc Requests

  • Responsible for ad-hoc requests (e.g., pricing trends, competitive requests, cost/benefit analysis)

  • Assist PLM's in managing data and building effective pricing strategies

  • Additional support as directed (e.g. product setup, customer presentations, SAP updates)

  • Project management responsibilities including a key support role in the eventual deployment of strategic pricing

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years' experience in one of the following: Sales, Commercial Management, Trading, Business Development, Demand Planning, Modeling

  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial elements of the business

  • Proven track record of delivering results

  • Strong business acumen

  • Can simultaneously manage multiple high priority projects

  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into strategic insights

  • Strong verbal & written communications skills

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence customers, employees, and senior management

  • Proven ability with respect to critical thinking and problem solving

  • An ability to influence others outside of formal reporting relationships

  • Relentless determination and courage to get things done, particularly in a new and evolving industry

  • Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for learning

  • Occasionally travel as required (typically less than 10% of time)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, information systems, or related fields

  • Experience in pricing, risk management, or trading/merchandising

  • Proven conceptual and strategic thinking skills and execution abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a B2B (business to business) environment

  • Experience in data visualization software such as Tableau

  • Experience utilizing SAP or equivalent ERP systems

  • Experience with financial quantitative analysis and analytics (NPV, ROI, ROIC, etc.)

  • Multiple years of experience in the food industry

  • CPG experience

  • Proven strong negotiation skills

  • Proficiency in using pricing tools like PROS, Zilliant, Vendavo, etc
