Cargill has an exciting opportunity available for a Cost Accountant, located in Wichita, KS. This position will be responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to product costing and adherence to the methodology mutually agreed upon across all protein group businesses. This position will be a key team member in the quest to drive consistency to allow for more visibility across the businesses. Upon completion of this journey, a key part of this role will encompass being the steward to ensuring we maintain our product costing alignment across the businesses. In doing so, this position will need to effectively communicate with impact across the organization with finance, operations and commercial disciplines. Additionally, this position will be expected to demonstrate a strong sense of curiosity to explore and drive analytics and subsequent recommendations with regards to standard costing. A strong candidate for this role is a self-motivator that can build trusting relationships, has a strong sense of priorities, can navigate ambiguity, think broadly and creatively, and drive for results.
60% Product Costing Analysis/Bill of Material Management, ad hoc analysis associated with product costing of current and new products and scenario analysis
20% Fiduciary Process Leadership-Directly participate and engage all stakeholders in product costing and ensure a consistent and effective approach to product costing
20% Other Projects as Assigned
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
2 years Accounting or Finance experience
Demonstrated high levels of both written and verbal communication and documentation skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work flow and complete tasks with a high level of organization, responsibility and efficiency
Demonstrated success working and influencing effectively in a team environment and ability to collaborate across boundaries
Ability to navigate ambiguity
Proven strong decision making and analytical/problem solving skills
Ability to effectively comprehend implications that lower level details have on the bigger picture
Ability to influence up, down and across the organization and drive for results
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Previous experience with product costing
Meat Processing or Manufacturing experience
Working knowledge of Plant Floor Systems, Prism costing system, Protean system
