Description

This position is a key leadership position on the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory team with responsibility to manage the development and management of FSQR programs that will be utilized across Cargill Protein. This role will work with and provide direction to Cargill Protein teams and external teams to manage expectations and ensure conformance to FSQR programs. This role will need to create an environment of high performance and continuous improvement. The role will be to ensure the FSQR team provides guidance to Cargill Protein with accurate and current information in order to make decisions and take appropriate level actions.

In addition, this role will:

  • Liaise and collaborate across Cargill Protein and Cargill FSQR global team (Corporate)

  • Leverage subject matter expertise to determine current and future impacts to changes in industry, regulations, technology, customers and consumers
  • Develop subject matter expertise in one or more FSQR Data Systems or Programs

  • Create an engaging culture within the FSQR team which focuses on core values and guiding principles

  • Support Cargill Protein FSQR team to execute objectives

Accountabilities:


Program/System Development.


  • By learning across functions and work levels and applying subject matter expertise, develop “best practice” FSQR programs that will be utilized across Cargill Protein
  • Monitor current events and analyze to determine current and potential impact to programs
  • Develop programs and processes that allow relevant stakeholders to take action on the information which will enable a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Work with Cargill resources to customize programs or systems to focus on efficiency and ease of use


Program Management


  • Manage document or data flow to ensure relevant stakeholders across the Cargill Protein Supply Chain have access to “current and clean” information
  • Ensure activities (i.e. supplier and external manufacturer execution, etc) are aligned with current practices, programs or expectations
  • Resolve non-conformance by working with the relevant parties (i.e., FSQR Specialist, procurement, business manager, legal, external parties, etc.)
  • Maintain and ensure knowledge of Cargill FSQR corporate expectations
  • Manage approval status of work streams (i.e., suppliers, external manufacturers, vendors, etc.)
  • Utilize scorecarding to provide feedback and focus areas in order to improve performance
  • Audit current performance against program expectations and provide follow-up as needed


Performance Management


  • Manage the performance of the team (i.e., supplier, external manufacturer, cross functional Cargill teams) to ensure execution of required objectives
  • Manage relationships to drive greater alignment, accountability and commitment


FSQR Program/System Training


  • Maintain system/program expertise and keep program knowledge current with changing conditions
  • Develop and serve as the subject matter expertise in one or more FSQR Data Systems or Programs
  • Develop, deploy and maintain training for FSQR Systems and Programs to be utilized across network of Cargill Protein locations


Cross-FSQR Coordination


  • Work across the FSQR Team as well as broader FSQR organization (i.e., Cargill Corporate) to deliver the functional goals to support the execution of the strategy.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years of experience in a Technical Services Field, i.e., Quality, Food Safety, SEM, Specs, R&D, IT, CI, etc.
  • Demonstrated affinity for detail, accuracy, organization, ability to prioritize and execute multiple detailed projects concurrently
  • Able to rethink and improve business for continued growth
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across areas of responsibility to gain commitment for change
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office software (MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel), data based systems
  • Knowledge of USDA or CFIA requirements
  • Business Fluency in English
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary
  • Flexible to work all shifts as needed

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in technical field (science or technology related)
  • Manufacturing experience across multiple product lines, i.e., Fully Cooked, Case Ready, Grinds
  • Knowledge of FSQR Data Systems (Specifications, Helix, Lab Helix, Archer, Enablon, Salesforce, Qualtrax, Open Text)
  • Experience in building, creating, and managing programs
  • Leadership experience in Technical Services, i.e., Quality, Food Safety, Auditing, R&D, SEM, CI, IT, etc.
