POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of the Nestlé legal team, this role handles a high volume of confidential and complex matters related to our corporate litigation efforts including, document and electronic data gathering and processing; initiating, managing, and responding to discovery requests; document and case management deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, cost recovery claims administration, as well as day-to-day administrative support for the legal team.

The organized and detail oriented person filling this position will be adept at maneuvering through large and complex organizations and will demonstrate the ability to foster a positive working relationship with all levels of individuals including inside and outside attorneys, peers and the Nestlé USA client base and affiliated companies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Paralegal/Administrative Support
• Provide routine paralegal assistance to outside counsel and/or Company attorneys involved in litigation, administrative, regulatory and compliance matters
• Respond to routine legal inquiries from Nestlé factories, sales offices and distribution centers
• Draft routine correspondence, affidavits, and/or other legal documentation, as appropriate
• Assist attorneys with special projects including factual research for discovery in lawsuits and coordinate discovery responses, including eDiscovery custodian interviews and data collections
• Investigate and administer cost recovery claims against third-parties
• Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, the Company's processes for service of legal process

Case Management
• Prepare succinct and understandable summaries of complex litigation for senior management
• Maintain an electronic case tracking and matter management database
• Independently research and respond to third party subpoenas
• Assist in the continued development and implementation of a legally defensible process for electronic discovery
• Manage and coordinate the litigation hold process and data preservation efforts

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
• Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
• Paralegal certificate and/or comparable practical experience as a litigation paralegal in a corporation or law firm strongly preferred
• Notary license a plus

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Litigation Department of a law firm or in a high volume, fast paced corporate litigation department
• Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry preferred

SKILLS:
• General knowledge of the litigation process with emphasis on discovery and the subpoena process
• Knowledge of the judicial system and procedures with emphasis on an understanding of the rules governing discovery, electronic discovery and service of process
• Ability to learn, understand and successfully operate in Nestlé's information technology architecture
• Self-starter, ability to manage workflow with tight deadlines and shifting priorities with minimal oversight
• Willingness to adapt and be open to change in order to achieve desired results
• Strong written and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of basic IT infrastructure
• Proficient in Word, Excel PowerPoint and Access as well as various electronic discovery review platforms
• Exemplary organizational skills for prioritizing and handling multiple projects and tasks
• Advanced working knowledge of legal research principles, methods, techniques, and resources
• Strong investigative and problem resolution skills
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal information to non -lawyers
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Good business judgment; initiative; the ability to take independent and decisive action; the judgment to know when to seek advice; and the capability to manage and maintain confidential information.
