To conduct the 7-Step Strategic Sourcing process for the transportation category. The outputs of this process include development, necessary approvals, and implementation of TCO documented strategies based on assigned areas of spend. Responsibilities include providing the necessary capacity, service, and rates to support Nestle. Strong Proactive Cooperation needs require their decisions be aligned with, and support, other Nestle needs (Warehouses/3PLs Sales, Customer Service, Deployment, Customers, Facilities/Real Estate, Shared Services) to provide the optimal value.
Maintain Market Category Expertise (MCE) and lead Procurement as the one face to our strategic suppliers. This includes market trends and regulatory changes. Advise NAP logistics leadership and Government relations of impact to Nestle. Represent Nestle as the “One Face to the transportation provider” for minimum 2X/year Transportation IMPACT Performance reviews. Represent Nestle at industry groups and network with other food shippers as required by supervisor. Keep team and stakeholders informed of industry issues, challenges & trends.
Must work closely with and align with the Physical Logistics Center of Excellence (COE) group, Transportation Operations and Finance. This position will have a solid line reporting relationship into his/her Group Manager representing North America Procurement.
• Locate and develop transportation providers across the country.
• Implement rigorous, ongoing 7-Step Strategic Sourcing process for all managed spend.
• This includes acquiring and maintaining a high degree of commercial Market Category Expertise (MCE) in the category. Specifically, an up-to-date knowledge of leading supplier technologies and capabilities, green/sustainability trends, and Intellectual Property (IP) management best practice in this market.
• Negotiate and execute Competitive bidding activities (RFI/RFPs) and resulting commercial agreements, which include the use of Nestlé's contract best practices for new relationships as well as improving older existing ones.
• Ensure ongoing supply of product that meets business unit sales requirements and satisfies Nestlé quality assurance and food safety imperatives.
• Identify and manage sourcing contingency plans for incumbent, higher risk bottleneck and select critical transportation providers.
• Understand and manage all value drivers relating to safety, on-time delivery, business continuity, responsible sourcing and environmental management.
• Manage supplier changes, identify and manage appropriate performance KPI's. Take all steps required to ensure supply that meets commercial, technical and quality requirements.
• Initiate and Manage the Supplier Relationship Management program for core suppliers-including 2X/Year supplier performance reviews.
• Develop and Implement key cost savings initiatives in line with each Operating Companies desired goals
• Evaluate Nestles' network NiM (Nestle in the Market) operational/cost savings opportunities
• Manage network overlays with key suppliers/shippers to produce incremental capacity and costs savings
• Conduct and manage negotiations, sourcing, and supplier setup
• Supervise and review the execution of the supplier's negotiated initiatives to assure alignment.
• Coordinate and align with Nestle Operating Companies to ensure service levels are being met; agreements are being followed; and exceptions are discussed, evaluated and resolved.

 Be involved with Divisions, Finance and Decision Support teams on the setting and reporting of strategic initiatives. Provide options and trade-offs of procurement decisions.
 Be involved in the development and review of supplier scorecards. Includes agreed to performance measures (capacity, costs, service) and feedback from operating companies. Follows up on compliance and changes as needed.
 Regular benchmarking, along with review of capacity, to ensure best value for Nestle.
Reports to Group Manager - Physical Logistics. Position requires minimal daily supervision. Guidance provided on process changes, addressing supplier performance issues, special projects, etc.
Reports to the Group Manager-Physical Logistics. Must ensure alignment with NA Procurement, Supply Chain and other related OMPs designated by supervisor.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
CPSM certification is a plus.
4-Yr Bachelor of Business degree required. Internal candidates PE rating of 3/3, 3/2, or 2/3 preferred.
Minimum 3 Yrs. Procurement or Supply Chain Management industry experience.
Proven experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
Logistics \\ Supply Chain experience a plus.
Food and Beverage or consumer products industry experience preferred
Demonstrated project management skills driving improvements on cross functional, cross location initiatives
