We have an immediate opening for a Direct Store Delivery Route Sales Representative to join our team. This role is highly interactive, has a strong sales and service focus. Daily Reporting Location:

Northbrook, IL
Ice Mountain Water Distribution Center

Schedule/ Hours:

Monday through Friday (full time hours)
6am start time to daily workload completion

Compensation:

$47,295 (biweekly paid salary) commission and a competitive benefits package

Role Responsibilities that Drive Success In This Role Include:

  • To visit an average of 15 to 20 retail customers daily within a designated territory to fully service both new and existing accounts by marketing our full portfolio of popular products
  • To sell in volume on our product lines and brand promotions to independent customers to include convenience stores, small independent grocers and markets, bodegas, etc.
  • To identify and close NEW customers up-and-down-the-street in territory who can benefit from our direct store delivery service
  • Merchandising shelf, cold boxes and floor space per client; adhering to pricing and promotion guidelines and to deliver correct products and quantities as requested per customer
  • Monitoring our customer environments and competition to understand and leverage sales opportunities at a local level
  • To meet the physical demands of delivering and merchandising our products both manually and with a hand truck (45lb minimum lifting requirement, repeated bending, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling and walking is required throughout the day)
  • Ensuring product display areas are clean, well-merchandised, strategically located, and with proper POS (point-of-sale) materials
  • Maintaining necessary delivery information on all accounts
  • Anticipating customer needs to maintain proper product inventories
  • Responding promptly to all special service requests and needs
  • Acting courteously, kindly, friendly and safely at all times
  • Ability to operate under minimal supervision and work independently to complete daily field delivery and selling activities
  • Must be willing to work 10 to 12 hour shift work days (on average) as required

Safety Responsibilities Include (safety is the TOP priority at our company):

  • Must be able to operate a commercial truck in a safe and responsible manner
  • Complete DOT required documentation daily
  • Follow defined safe work practices
  • Take ownership of personal safety, and that of co-workers and the public

Required Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a prior merchandising role, direct store delivery role, retail sales role, or business development role
  • Prior work history involving outdoor and/or physical labor work
  • Relatable delivery or merchandising work history, and/or prior sales or customer service experience preferred but not required
  • Retail customer service experience

Motor Vehicle Record Requirements (firm):

  • Ability to secure and maintain CDL Class B license with airbrake endorsement (post conditional offer requirement)
  • Motor Vehicle Report: no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • Motor Vehicle Report: (last 7 years) displaying no major driving offenses including DUI/DWI, reckless driving, refusal to test, leaving the scene of an accident, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal incident
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (DOT requirement)
