Cargill Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (CSSP) is a global organization that strives to strategically source and leverage Cargill's indirect spend; this indirect spend spans Plant Materials and Services (MRO, Capital, Plant Services, etc); Corporate Material and Services (travel, IT, HR, etc); Chemicals/Energy; Packaging; and Ingredients. The CSSP team is responsible for managing over 9 billion in spend. The team is comprised of regional and sub-regional groups in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific that, along with key global enabling teams, has implemented sourcing strategies and procurement capabilities to support Cargill businesses and functions.
50% Program and Portfolio Leadership of Total Collaboration Management and enterprise related initiatives; Change Leadership related to enterprise initiatives
Leverage external consultant to assist in building the total collaboration management strategy; leverage consultant to help identify and incorporate external best practices and benchmarks
Establish a program for immersive telecoms capabilities and implementation plan; collaborate with various stakeholders across Cargill to implement strategy
Establish and implement governance of Total Collaboration Tools; stakeholder engagement at varied levels in the organization to institute and maintain the established governance. Key stakeholders include Executive Team (CFO, BOSC Leader, HR, CEO)
Define the value capture of Total Collaboration Management Program
Creating an understanding of how to move from current state to desired state and supporting change and communication plans
Build a digitalization roadmap for global Travel category to anticipate and address new/emerging trends, often referred to as disruptors (ex. Uber, Air B&B,etc)
Create a digitalization strategy to address mobile booking and travel services on mobile devices. Engage with other key enterprise stakeholders to create and implement strategy (Global IT, Global Security, Media Services, etc.)
Initiate and lead projects related to sustainability in travel. Identifying ways to reduce our carbon footprint with travel, reduce greenhouse emissions and other related areas (air, hotel, ground transportation, reducing demand of travel)
Initiate and lead project related to Traveler Safety. In partnership with Global Security, HR and Finance, work to identify ways that Cargill can fulfill the duty of care we have for our employees when traveling; modernize the iSOS program; increase awareness of tools/resources to travelers.
Establish, in partnership with Communications, a communication strategy related to various initiatives and organizational changes related to travel programs.
Collaborate with Human Resources function to determine how to implement initiatives and drive the change needed throughout the organization, which will lead to improving the effectiveness and engagement of our employees (Ie. improved work/life balance).
Lead a meetings and events campaign to optimize travel and entertainment spend which is currently not governed
30% Global Travel Policy and Supplier Governance
Lead the implementation of supplier governance practices related to the Travel Management Services (BCD), Card Provider (AMEX), Air (ex Delta), Hotels to lead to better service delivery, increased value for the organization, better services for travelers.
Leadership for projects related to supplier performance improvement (ex. increased card coverage, improved hotel selection for business travelers).
Accountable for Benchmarking through travel advisory board, Advito, and other industry organizations to identify and measure against other organizations and bring in best practices.
Expense management strategy and controls
20% Strategically source Global Travel
Responsible for strategically sourcing travel related suppliers
Oversee and conduct RFP's for travel
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement
- 5 years of experience in sourcing travel for large organizations
- Strategic thinker - understands the details but can operate at a higher level
- Strong leadership & interpersonal skills with the ability to engage & influence senior stakeholders
- Prior experience with Total Collaboration Management tools and implementing new practices
- Experience with world-class strategic sourcing & category management practices
- Proven ability to lead and drive systemic changes within an organizations culture
- Strong experience leading global projects, large teams, and driving category initiatives
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate initiatives with a virtual, global/regional team
- Track record of success in capturing value and driving spend to preferred suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and improve vendor performance through the application of rigorous SRM Processes
- Experience working in a sourcing organization in a large multi-national organization
- Prior experience with implementing travel and entertainment expense management systems
