Use Benefits industry knowledge, competitive information, and legal requirements to assist with the research and development of retirement benefit programs offered to U.S. employees ensuring Cargill is providing effective and competitive benefit solutions for active and retired employees. Responsibilities require guiding/reviewing and performing activities within a geography and/or client group with limited supervision. Activities include, but are not limited to: development of recommendations (financially appropriate and competitive), implementation and execution of the benefit strategies, policies, programs, and provide guidance on the processes. This includes, as well, research, analysis and ongoing oversight of required governance and compliance.

Principal Accountabilities:

30% - Develop, Implement & Execute Benefit Strategies, Policies, Programs

  • Drawing upon benefit knowledge, understanding of the business environment, and requirements and under Limited supervision:
  • Analyzes and provides recommendations on future adoption of programs
  • Provides consult to HR/Business Managers and supervisors regarding the compliant delivery of benefits
  • Guide, review and drive benefit projects
  • Supports rates setting and rate recommendation process

25% - Compliance and Governance

  • Guides, reviews and performs the design and execution of the benefits framework
  • Under limited supervision consults HR and business in benefits policies, programs and champions governance process for approvals
  • Ensures the consistent application of benefits administration in compliance with all regulatory requirements for a complex geography and/or client group.
  • Works with legal as appropriate
  • Helps to ensure measurement for compliance is in place with other measurements

25% - Benefit Research, Analysis and provide support tools

  • Draw upon knowledge of benefit principles, theories and concepts for the review of benchmarking, research, and analysis related to:
  • Cost modeling, business impact, market comparisons, emerging trends
  • Prepare complex information for use by Manager for overall reporting
  • Prepare complex reports for use with HR Managers and finance.

15% - Business Relationship and Vendor Management

  • Provide consultation to HR and business managers regarding benefits issues and activities
  • Provide direction on communications regarding strategies, policies, programs and processes
  • Provide support in the design/delivery of training and education
  • Monitor vendor's operational performance and implementation of programs.

5% - Other Duties, as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years' experience in Retirement Plan benefits
  • Strong and proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to communicate effectively and make recommendations to improve strategies/methods
  • Proven success in developing and delivering innovation and customer oriented solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out strategic alliances and successfully collaborate with others both inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of the retirement benefits industry and market trends
  • Must be resourceful and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to be a team player

  • Previous experience with an outsource benefits administration environment
  • Experience working with defined contribution, defined benefit, non-qualified and ESOP retirement benefit plans
