The Program Manager; SharePoint & Online Technologies
is responsible for a combination of strategy and execution and will work closely with the Corporate Manufacturing Excellence leadership team, key technical experts, contracted resources, Functions Learning and Development and Corporate Affairs to provide leadership in solution design and deployment of solutions to support operational and domain technology requirements.

This position will be responsible for understanding a broad set of domain strategies with the ability to apply common solutions, client relationship management and collaboration skills to achieve value and implement best practices using electronic format. This role requires leadership in the areas of program management, online-communication, and business process. Also required is the ability to apply standard methods, technical experience and ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into solutions. Expected of this position, is the application of a methodology to assess technology and communication requirements, leading to the design, development and deployment of solutions for Plant Operations. Responsibilities include execution and leadership of conceptual design of sites, messaging, and consideration of architecture, functionality, graphics, and overall user experience. This role requires the skillset of a solution architect, subject matter expertise in technology combined with disciplined project management.

Communication and consulting with domain leads and other business representatives to fulfill functional and non-functional requirements, and development of messaging and communication goals with strong consideration for the user experience

Lead and execute in current state assessment, design, development, and deployment of online-communication solutions supporting Cargill plant operations globally

Collaboration on and development of Plant Operations online-communication networks and strategies including Yammer, SharePoint, Lync, Webex, and selected tools associated with operational intelligence

Thought leadership and solution development in areas of data capture, organization and presentation while using integration with other complimentary technologies

Assessment and implementation of complimentary technology offerings to enhance the support of domain process design and data management requirements

Principal Accountabilities

40% Lead projects and develop standard processes for engagement, requirements gathering, solution design, development and implementation

  • Organize projects and resources in a team environment with the goal to design and implement a solution driven by a set of requirements, project schedule and defined set of deliverables.

  • Will engage contracted resources and solicit Cargill resources as necessary.

  • Will manage budgets and schedules related to assigned projects

30% Support Domain Leads, Stakeholders and Project Leads with:

  • Tools and consultation to execute assessment of process, mapping, value-add process, architect and design, deployment and implementation

  • Process redesign, technical or functional solution implementation

  • Support development of documented business requirements

  • Support development of functional and technical design for defined solution

  • Co-team with the Technical Architect to support production of technical specifications for systems and integration requirements

15% Lead and Execute Governance guidelines and site standards with collaboration across domains

15% Lead and develop complimentary technology options to support Plant Operations

Additional Principal Accountabilities Detail

  • Utilize communication, organization skills and creative influence to lead and execute Plant Operations strategy. Coach resources, prioritize projects, stay informed and consult on online-communication options pertinent to Plant Operations

  • Leads or Participates in team meetings or directly with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements for projects and in team meetings to report on ongoing project status and deliverables

  • Apply and share knowledge; contribute ideas and opinions and facilitate collaboration across domain leads

  • Works independently on or leads a team to design, build, stabilize and deploy solutions using SharePoint and several core technologies including Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server,
  • Uses knowledge of Plant Systems and Controls architecture and visualization tools such as Power BI and PI Coresight to architect data and visualization solutions for business partners

  • Assists in the development and definition of test plans and scripts for performance, regression and user acceptance test plans; support QA activities as required

  • Performs unit testing prior to moving code/configuration to the QA process. Evaluates and researches upgrades, patches and new functionality. Researches defects and solve for root cause problems.

  • Builds and maintains templates, rules, style sheets, workflows, data extractions and imports, interfaces and object models

  • Trains team members on areas of expertise. Participate in and lead solution reviews, conduct quality checks and provide feedback when necessary

  • Influences and educates Key Stakeholders in areas of technology alignment pertaining to BOM solutions and best practices

  • Utilizes function, business and 3rd Party support to facilitate requirements fulfillment, solution review and quality assurance on site solutions

  • Participates in training design and methods, documentation and delivery in concert with the designated business leads

  • Initiates progress status, scope clarifications, prioritization of jobs, and addresses stakeholder expectations

  • Participates and contributes as Subject Matter Expert in a team environment to support stakeholder



  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications or project management.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a project management professional and/or relevant experience in managing SharePoint design & development.

  • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities, initiatives and high levels of ambiguity in a rapidly changing communications environment.

  • Experience understanding, translating and converting business requirements into solution designs.

  • Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record of technical expertise, consulting and delivery experience.

  • Experienced in Project and/or Program Management including scheduling, risk identification, financial tracking, assignment of tasks, identification and management of resources, status reporting and stakeholder communication.

  • Demonstrated experience and familiar with plant operations and controls technology and data management solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience building trust and strong relationships with customers and/or clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders.

  • Strong collaborative skills working across diverse groups, including the ability to source and manage vendors.

  • Experience with enterprise solutions, methodologies, integration tools, data analysis, visualization and trending.

  • Strong presentation and excellent written and oral communication skills - clear, concise, creative, and persuasive.

  • Experience in practicing good judgment, collaboration and a pragmatic approach to delivering solutions that optimize processes and strategic company needs, business constraints and technological realities.

  • Occasional travel to Cargill Plant locations, approximately 10 - 15%, required.


  • Experience working in a large, complex, global organization

  • Experience building, publishing and managing SharePoint sites

  • Experience communicating within an operations environment (Plant Operations, safety, etc.)
