The Global Tax & Customs function employs approximately 200 professionals. The function is headquartered in Hopkins, Minnesota. Other tax professionals are located throughout the world with principal offices in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, London, Amsterdam, Singapore and Shanghai.
The Global Tax & Customs function has an opening for a Tax Analyst within the International Compliance Group.
The Tax Analyst will be responsible for the U.S. tax compliance of companies within an assigned geographic region, including identification of activity with U.S. tax implications, analysis of the related tax law, and preparation and review of related U.S. tax calculations and reporting obligations. The Tax Analyst will also assist with tax planning, including transaction planning and development of tax positions to ensure that Cargill reports its international results in the most tax-efficient manner. Tax planning focuses primarily on foreign tax credit utilization, subpart F minimization, repatriation strategies, post-acquisition integrations and internal restructurings.
70% - Analyze, prepare and review earnings & profits and subpart F; prepare and review notices; minimal review of information returns (Form 5471, etc.)
20% - Special projects related to tax planning, including identifying and addressing risks and opportunities.
5% - Researching & responding to information request from auditors.
5% - Responding to business unit inquiries.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting
• The desire and aptitude to learn the U.S. international tax rules and Cargill business
• Ability to consistently and independently manage workload to meet deadlines
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Motivation to work within a high-performing team environment.
