Position Purpose

In this position you will provide technical knowledge & management skills in a first line supervisory level. Maintenance schedule compliance is accomplished through daily coordination with the operations department to meet the demands of production. A person in this role is required to maintain this communication to serve the needs of this internal customer as well as the attainment of short and long term facility maintenance goals. The Maintenance Supervisor must be flexible to the changing needs of the operation & will be expected to be familiar with the operations side of the operation.


Principal Accountabilities



· 30% - Reliability Excellence - Organize, plan, and lead maintenance activities relating to mechanical maintenance. Manage equipment repair and PM's. Establish priorities, direct field and shop repairs and equipment servicing. Problem solving when issues arise or opportunities develop, improving work process and operating efficiencies· 30% - Risk Management: Through observation ensure all employees & contractors follow EHS and OSHA policies and procedures. Follow up scheduling of corrective work from plant inspections, EHS audits, etc… Perform safety meetings & sections of the EHS program as assigned by the EHS coordinator.· 15% - Operational Effectiveness: Daily coordination with the operations department to schedule down time as needed to maintain equipment as well as ensuring that production needs are met. Familiarize yourself with the logistical & operational side of the facility to perform the week-end rotation.· 15% - Capital Effectiveness: Utilizing the project commitment process develops the scope and execute on the projects you are assigned. This process includes; seeking out engineering as needed, identifying the materials & labor required utilizing the bid process, over-seeing the contractors who are awarded the project and ensuring the projects specifications were met and financials are brought to a close.

· 5% - Talent management: Ensure the maintenance department is participating in all safety related training. Facilitate the HR needs of your employees. Provide on-going training to current employees to learn new tasks and deepen the talent pool of the facility. Manage the performance of employees assigned to you through, coaching, KRA development and The Performance Management Process.

5 % - Tasks or assignments not captured above as issued to you be the Maintenance & Reliability Leader or Superintendent.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2 to 4 year college degree, or 5 years' experience with maintenance and/or production management.
  • 2 years' scheduling and maintenance coordination experience.
  • 2 years' experience managing a team of at least 4 mechanics.
  • 2 years' experience with CMMS.
  • Preferred

  • Degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn/teach your team, using your knowledge of hydraulics, conveyors, dust collection systems and power trains.
  • Working knowledge in SAP.
  • Knowledge of proactive maintenance technologies.
  • Working knowledge with Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Strong organizational leadership and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills: strong written, interpersonal, verbal and listening skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Coaching: Acknowledges, develops, and rewards competencies and results; addresses people issues/opportunities; and develops team.
