Cargill Protein is a leader at delivering primary processed and value added proteins into the Foodservice, Retail and Ingredient market channels. It operates several food processing facilities located in the US and Canada. Our customers in Foodservice are comprised of large national restaurant chain operators, contract feeding companies and both national and regional foodservice distributors. Our Retail customers are comprised of primarily large national grocery retailers and warehouse clubs. Our Ingredient customers are comprised of large branded manufacturers of retail consumer packaged goods. Position Purpose

The Senior Supply Chain Analyst is part of the Sales and Operations Planning team within the Protein Group Supply Chain. Reporting to the Optimization and Analytics Manager, this role will actively be involved in supply chain design, modeling, supply and demand analysis and “what if”/scenario planning. The ideal candidate has very strong technical skills and experience using multimple systems and has the ability to translate between business requirements and analysis needs. In addition, it is key that the candidate can effectively articulate findings across various levels of the organization.

The Protein Group Supply Chain team utilizes multiple advanced tools including SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO), SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Logility, Supply Chain Guru, etc. The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst will work closely with the the various Channels and Supply Chains within the Protein Group as well as our process and technology implementation teams.

Principal Accountabilities

  • 40% Develops, maintains and utilizes complex supply chain designs, optimizations and scenario planning

  • 30% Design and deploy the analytics and data visualizations to support the Sales and Operations Planning/Integrated Planning Process

  • 20% Advises and provides recommendations to internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, plant operations, CTL and procurement) on the impacts of their supply chain plan. This includes all aspects regarding costs, impact on capacity, logistics, and sourcing

  • 10% Miscellaneous Duties as Assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus in IT, Operations, Finance, Business or Supply Chain Management

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Business Intelligence, Tableau, Power BI, etc)

  • Advanced proficiency in standard business applications (e.g. MS Office Suite)

  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and act with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to identify and communicate information required to make sound business decisions across many functions


  • Experience in Operations, SCM or IT

  • Experience with SQL, AS400 and multiple ERP systems

  • Experience with advanced planning tools such as SAP APO, SAP IBP, Logility, JDA, etc.

  • Knowledge of the food industry and commodity markets
