Position Purpose

The Regional Natural Resources Manufacturing Technology Leader provides standardized technical direction and leadership for the SSNA and CTS Natural Resource usage and Utilities operations. The position's focus areas include direct technical responsibility for Natural Resource usage (fuel, energy, water) across the entirety of plant operations and Utilities operations (Steam generation, Power Generation, Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Air compressors, Cooling Towers, and Bulk Chemcial facilities) across all of the SSNA and CTS North America facilities. The major focus of the role is to provide technical leadership in optimizing and reducing the Natural Resource consumption as well as maintaining and improving the operational results of the Utilities operations. Activities involved in this area include leadership of value creation in the Natural Resource area and across related technologies; Lead the regional Natural Resources HPI portfolio management process and provide technical input to project development for Natural Resources and Utilities projects; Provide technical support for strategic growth activities, including but not limited to analysis of opportunities with complex business cases and providing technology transfer to commercial scale between R&D and operations; Oversee technology performance, utilizing metrics and KPI's to ensure sustainment of value and idenitfication of opportunities; Support plants as necessary through implementation of standardization of processes, validation of compliance to standards and technical development of their people; Support manufacturing technology processes to sustain value and enable growth; and Provide technology leadership for process safety risk management as needed.

Principal Accountabilities



40% Value creation:

Lead value creation through identification and prioritization of opportunities.

Support the global MT organization in providing technical support for growth opportunities.

Manage the regional HPI portfolio in alignment with Product line and Regional strategy

Drive additional value by overseeing Natural Resource Management Systems and Cost Savings initiatives within the Utilities operations

20% Sustain the base:

Identify, share and institutionalize best practices by understanding, documenting and deploying them across the enterprise. Partner globally to audit performance to these standards.

Create and utilize processes and metrics to sustain the value created and identify opportunities.

Develop/optimize manufacturing technology processes.

40% Develop, coach, lead others:

Ensure standard employee training and development relating to the manufacturing technology.

Share vision, direction, value opportunities and empower/enable others to achieve it.

Provide coaching, development, and performance management to direct and indirect reports.

Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or science.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in complex and ambiguous technical, operational, engineering, and business environments and lead those concepts across broad geographies.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and lead people, with diverse backgrounds, to accomplish business objectives, through influence as well as through reporting lines.
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to recognize when the utilization of six-sigma tools and methologies will add business value.
  • Ability to partner with product line management and R&D on product/process development, filling project management and/or technology lead roles for new product and new process development (NPSS).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate through written, verbal and presentation skills with multiple levels of Cargill and customer organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize to meet business objectives.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, delegate and manage perfromance.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated competency and utilization of Statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP, Umetrics and/or other statistical or multivariate analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Understanding of power and value of Process Modeling tools (Aspen and Umetrics) and when to apply.
  • Previous experience in Utilities operations such as Boilers, Burner Management Systems, Water Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment
