Position Purpose

Cargill Optimizing Services (COS) is a rapidly-growing business that is breaking new ground with Cargill's key customers. COS provides unmatched experience in reducing cost, increasing capacity and improving yield in food and beverage manufacturing operations through the application of broad engineering experience and proprietary simulation tools. We provide high-end talent with over 150 years of experience in developing sustainable process improvements. Whether the need is to realize more capacity from existing assets, reduce manufacturing costs, or achieve sustainability goals, COS's top-down approach delivers pragmatic, actionable solutions. In addition to process improvements, COS's collaborative approach helps the operating team capture a deeper understanding of the interactions between energy, raw material and water use in the plant.

COS has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager. This is a unique opportunity to help grow a high value Cargill services business and have a significant impact on operating efficiencies and environmental sustainability in the food and beverage industry. This position will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing customer relationships to grow revenue, as well as helping to develop new service offerings. This position will focus on growing the COS portfolio in North America

This position will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing strategies to grow CPO business in North American target markets to contribute to global Cargill market growth.
Collaborating with Cargill Go-To-Market sales teams to penetrate key Cargill customers.
Originating sales opportunities and value propositions for Cargill and non-Cargill customers
Examining potential business opportunities by analyzing customer needs and aligning with COS offerings to create value propositions for customers

Principal Accountabilities

80% Origination of Meetings with appropriate decision makers in customer organizations (VP Mfr, CEO, CFO, VP Supply Chain)

20% Marketing activities - Trade Show participation, Governmental agency interactions

Required Qualifications

5 years of proven sales experience or a 4 year degree
Proficient in writing proposals for customers and business correspondence
Must be able to understand technical offerings and effectively demonstrate software tools
Must be able to effectively deliver oral presentations on short notice and customize presentations to specific audiences
Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently
Ability to travel in and out of region up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrates tenacious and unrelenting drive for results
Demonstrated ability to network effectively
Prior experience selling and marketing premium valued added services
Experience with high levels of management in Tier 1 food & beverage customers
