Gerber Products Company dba Nestle Nutrition is seeking a Category Manager to join its Grocery West Retail Sales Team based in the Grand Rapids, MI area.

The main role of the Category Manager is to support the Customer Business Manager and the Meijer Category Buyers to achieve current and long-term Nestle Nutrition business objectives as defined by: brand strategy, share of shelf, market share, retail in-stocks, and shelf profitability. This position works closely with the internal resources of CCSD to drive strategic initiatives within Meijer.

Profitable Category / Aisle Growth:
• Integrate Category Management Principles, Shopper Insights and Retail Customer Marketing Strategies to achieve or exceed established sales and share targets for Meijer
• Transform the aisle to achieve NN merchandising flows that offer convenient shopper experience
• Assist CBM in developing annual business plan by analyzing and projecting most efficient assortment and promotions
• Achieve new item / fix-the-mix distribution goals including ACV targets
• Deliver on all key growth drivers by business segment to grow market share
• Leverage shared team resources to maximize results
• Leverage Nestle in the Market wherever relevant to add value 

Category Management:
• Provide fact-based category insights and shelf recommendations as the category leader / advisor within key categories to the Meijer Category Managers
• Utilize Meijer-specific data to support brand and customer strategies
• Utilize available technology, including Meijer Vendor Net and Shopper View tools, to track, analyze, and evaluate internal and external business trends and offer actionable insights to achieve profitable Category / Aisle business growth targets
• Analyze new item sales to track performance against objectives
• Analyze Meijer POS and available syndicated data to achieve SOS, market share, merchandising flow, and promotional objectives
• Evaluate POS, promotional calendar, factory and consumption trends to support CBM in developing accurate sales forecasts
• Lead the team in post-promotion and ROI analysis, including QPR process
• Maintain high level of industry, category, customer, consumer, and nutritional science expertise


• Bachelors Degree Required

• Strong Syndicated Data / Planogram Software skills, including Nielsen (scanner and panel) and Apollo/JDA Prospace
• Detail-oriented with ability to work in fast-paced environment with minium supervision
• Ability to analyze, interpret and develop recommendations from various data sources
• Strong presentation skills and strategic agililty to deliver tactical execution of growth strategy
• Customer-focused with ability to interact professionally with Customer Team and develop and foster effective peer relationships
• Results focus, priority setting, and timely decision-making skill sets
• Strong technical proficiency including - Excel/Access, Powerpoint, and SAP BW
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree, 3-5 years experience in category management or business analytics within the CPG industry

Working Requirements:
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of total time to support customer meetings, national sales meetings and attend any necessary training
