POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the direction and overall results of assigned Business Unit. This includes managing in a union environment and ensuring that salaried supervisors and the hourly workforce ensure quality products at high productivity and within cost standards. Maximizes performance of personnel while ensuring positive employee relations. Fosters an open channel of communication, atmosphere and teamwork between departments and shifts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direction to salaried supervisors to ensure quality products and adherence to productivity goals and cost standards.
Lead the successful NCE implementation in the Business Unit including Operational Master Plans for the business/strategic planning, WOR/KPI's, Cascade vision, goals, priorities (effective communication to entire teams), Oversight of DOR's/SHO effectiveness
Development of salaried direct reports to include hiring, training and performance management fostering an environment that promotes positive employee relations and safety accountability.
Establish departmental operating budgets and adhering to the same.
· Responsible for supporting and/or coordinating the brand needs in the commercial side of the business: Infologues/consumer complaints and action plans to address; conduct with division/corporate for new products, scheduling/attainment, quality issues, other as required
Responsible to be the communication link between all departments to ensure company goals and objectives are met.
Responsible that raw material, labor and packaging variances are within budgeted standards.
Work with Human Resources, salaried and hourly employees to maintain a positive work environment.
· Complete all other projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.
· Has immediate responsibility for the Safety & Environmental activities performed by supervisors and employees.
a. Assures that Safety activities are communicated & accomplished as outlined in the plant's safety program.
b. Assures that activities performed having an environmental impact are communicated and accomplished as outlined in the plant's environmental program.
c. Assures that the supervisor involved properly investigates all injuries, incidents and accidents as they relate to safety or the environment.
d. Consult with the plant Safety/Environmental Management Representative as necessary to fulfill program requirements.
e. Review all accident and incident investigations with the objective of taking action to eliminate future occurrences.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
College degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Business, or Sciences.

EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 years in food manufacturing with production floor experience; prior experience managing in a union environment preferred
Experience with SAP a plus.
Excellent communication and coaching skills.
Strong computer skills & experience with Microsoft Office.
High energy level and excellent follow up skills.
Creative problem solving, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Excellent people skills, maintain a positive attitude and the ability to motivate people is needed.
