Foodjob Denmark is looking for a food industry professional with culinary experience and a passion for seafood and within product development of seafood products, as well as experience with technologies like reactions, top-note handling and fermentation. The position will be based at company locations in Aalesund, Norway, and refers to the Business Unit Director.

The position is a new role, and will offer opportunities for developing new seafood solutions application recipes to showcase seafood ingredients for global markets. Knowledge about raw materials and their potential as seafood ingredients will also be important for the job. The main working location will be at the company's Excellence Centre in Aalesund, but travelling to other countries for following up on projects and partnerships will be needed. The Innovation Specialist should have a solid academic and professional basis, an independent personality and a strong drive for innovation.

The position should strengthen the organization on the development of new solutions and applications, creating culinary concepts including proactive promotions, and collaborate with Sourcing and Purchasing, Innovation, Creation and Commercial team. The right candidate experience in similar positions in industry, preferably with a hands-on background within R&D, sensory science and/or production, and will ensure well-functioning, solution-oriented optimization projects with production, partners, clients and other stakeholders. The right candidate has a Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Agronomy or similar with a strong ability to translate theory into practice.

The right candidate is able to analyze complex challenges of both commercial and research based nature, and come up with solutions on how these challenges are handled and resolved. Assignment work is done in cooperation with the department's other employees, but you are the key expert, and you will be a strong driver in R&D considerations and how to define possibilities for different raw materials in food applications.

Personal skills:

  • Practical experience from an R&D environment in the seafood segment
  • Strong presentation skills and able to showcase applications towards clients
  • Education within Chef/Culinary, Food Science, Food Technology or similar
  • Systematic and persistent, but thrive even in a busy life
  • Safe use of MS Office suite and use Excel at high level
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Forward moving with great professional curiosity, but also a team player with respect for others
  • Industrious and development-oriented
  • Excellent awareness of the seafood market and market products
  • Flexible and able to travel
