We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Large Format manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona producing 3 and 5 gallon packages. This is hands on role in a smaller one line facility with approximately 8 employees running various 5 gallon and 3 gallon SKUs.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overall responsibility for total facility performance and metrics for this bottling and distribution facility
  • Spending time on the floor engaging with employees and overseeing plant operations
  • Responsible for P&L and customer satisfaction performance for the facility by ensuring that planned efficiency and production numbers are attained or exceeded to ensure customer demand can be fulfilled on time
  • Creating and maintaining a cohesive team of leaders and providing coaching and development
  • Serving as factory champion for national safety and quality programs and initiatives
  • Creating and maintaining a positive work environment for all employees
  • Leading and facilitating Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) and an upcoming Total  Performance Management (TPM) implementation
  • Building effective relationships with other plant leaders and corporate team members
  • Ensuring compliance of operations with company policy and all Federal, State and local regulations

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or related field; Master's a plus
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing, including career progression and cross functional assignments with 4 or more years serving as a department manager.
  • Consumer products industry experience desired, prior food or beverage preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, warehousing, and distribution
  • Understanding of support functions including budgeting, planning, safety, quality and human resources.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and business management systems such as SAP
  • Ability to inspire passion and commitment and lead and facilitate operational and cultural change initiatives
  • Demonstrated track record at building a cohesive team and creating a positive work environment
  • Prior experience leading, coaching and developing a team and delivering performance metrics through others
  • Prior experience in the consumer products industry or food and beverage with familiarity with quality and hygiene regulation desired
  • Knowledge and exposure to TPM, Six Sigma, and various problem solving methodologies
  • Strong communication, relationship building and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates and models a high degree of honesty, integrity and personal character
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to partner internally and externally to achieve results
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives on tight deadlines and delegate accordingly
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence change and encourage action
  • Solid problem solving abilities with the ability to coach and mentor others in this capacity
  • Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours calls for critical issues and provide weekend coverage a few times/year.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. or Canada occasionally (~10%) for meetings
