Nestlé Infant Nutrition (Gerber) is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Facility Maintenance - Plant to be based Eau Claire, WI, reporting into the Manager of Manufacturing Operations.


This position manages the maintenance functions for the factory. Also provides leadership to minor and small engineering projects.


Provides leadership, development, and support to team members under the guidance of the Nestle Management and Leadership Principles.

• Communicate with entire internal & external customer base and troubleshoot system and personnel problems. Optimize the assets to assure production capacity. Develop and participate in production efficiency improvements and actively drive change.

• Create an environment that empowers employees to drive change and improve systems. Plan and supervise daily activities involving Maintenance Team Advisors. This includes daily communication, delivering PDG performance reviews, writing and revising SOPs, ensuring proper training is provided, etc.

• Partner with Engineers to solve complex problems and complete engineering projects.

• Budget Maintenance and Repair related items, manage cost centers, and provide approvals of needed maintenance and repair items. Provide oversight for maintenance- related contract services.

• Participate on efficiency and Maintenance related projects.

• Perform all other duties as needed.

Safety and Environmental:
• Follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets
• Follow the plant safety rules; report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately
• Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
• Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)
• Follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets
• Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices; report food safety and quality issues immediately.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.
• Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.

Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintains a focus on continuous improvement.


Required: Associate Degree in electromechanical or related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field. Education in supervisory/ leadership capacity.


Required: 5 years in a maintenance environment. 3 years of experience supervising others in a maintenance environment. Experience with engineering-related projects.

Preferred: Experience in a food or pharmaceutical plant, specifically with spray dryer operations. Experience managing in a unionized work environment.
