Trade Marketing Manager
Reporting to the Sales Director Gourmet in Barry Callebaut Switzerland, you will be responsible for the Brand CARMA. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small team and be involved in the planning right through to the hands on execution. The Trade Marketing Manager translates the global Marketing strategies and product creations into local actions and tools. The final goal is to support the realization of the commercial targets for the Business Unit in the region and to gain market share within different segments. The incumbent is therefore responsible for developing and executing the annual trade event plans, supporting the annual customer mapping process, developing of an industry sector strategy and assisting in the development and maintenance of competitive intelligence efforts.
Perform a range of activities to effectively market assigned products/services, such as conducting market research, overseeing product development and design, overseeing advertising campaigns, and monitoring sales performance. Create periodical communication plan to increase brand awareness, set up communication plans per segment and brand. Align content with seasonalities, central brand marketing activities and product launches. Keep and maintain contact and relationship with professional press. Develop the execution plan by taking all available resources and all different target audiences into account. Optimize product&brand mix/sales portfolio in order to obtain margin increase.
Monitor, analyze, and evaluate domestic and international trade market trends, consumer behavior and competitor activity to identify market opportunities for the products and brands. Monitor, analyze, and evaluate trade and market performance and customer feedback to generate new product ideas, identify product features that need to be changed to meet customer needs.
Develop the trade event plan for annual events and manage budget; work collaboratively with Sales, R&D and Operations/Planning to define and deliver all products and materials on time to the events. Direct and lead the management and coordination of all logistical details prior, during and following the event including accommodations, setup, teardown and follow ups including delivery of samples to customers following show. Conduct customer mapping exercise by identifying volume position - CARMA share, competitor's share, growth opportunity, and captive volume. Assist in development of sales plan to capitalize on opportunities associated with findings of customer mapping. Support the development of an industry/channel strategy that focuses and drives sales efforts based on growth opportunities, new product opportunities, pricing opportunities, and product strategy. Assist in the communication of key issues impacting customers.
For this interesting and challenging position, the following background and skills are required:
- University master degree or equivalent (Eidg. dipl. Marketingleiter)
- Some years of professional experience in Product Marketing, Customer or Trade Marketing
- Experience in Event organisation and Promotion Management
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Swiss German as mother language
- English - good written and spoken skills, French would be an advantage
