Nestle Product Technology Centre Ice Cream located in Bakersfield California is the global center for excellence in Ice Cream and frozen desserts!

As Process Engineer you will be responsible for providing leadership in innovation and renovation of products/processes/systems from inception to commercialization. This may include specifying, purchasing, installing, testing, testing and improvement of processes and equipment in the pilot plant and in factories around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of new processes or products:

Create and lead new projects focusing on the development of innovation or renovation of existing processes.

Specify and purchase process equipment for new and/or existing products.

Lead the development process from inception through to commercialization in factories.

Execute R&D capital projects within scope including budget, training and documentation.

 

Provide technical support to innovation projects at NPTC:

Define and implement technical solutions adapted to project's requirements.

Provide project teams with daily operational support (troubleshooting, continuous improvements and process development).

 

People and Know How:

Supervise and train Pilot Plant Technicians (all levels) as required.  Serve as mentor to one or more staff for career development opportunities.

Represent organization at various seminars, workshops and project review meetings.

Stay current with Nestle quality and safety systems, and regulatory requirements.


Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Food Engineering required

7 years experience working in a fast moving consumer goods category preferred

5 years project management experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills
